AWS Cost Explorer Cost Types explained

The AWS Cost explorer provides a respectable amount of detail into the costs accrued in using the cloud provider’s array of services. Your average engineer with little understanding of accounting principles might however not be all too familiar with the terminology AWS throws at them when exploring costs. In this article, we take a (concise) look at the of various AWS cost datasets.

Unblended costs

Default option and the only useful option for the vast majority of cases, the unblended costs represent cost on the day the costs are charged to you, i.e incurred.
